Scott founded Tropic Star Development in 2007 after about 30 years of practicing Commercial Real Estate. He has brokered and developed over a combined one hundred gas stations in the New England Area. Scott has worked with clients such as Applebee’s, Burger King, Chili’s, CVS Pharmacy, Dunkin Donuts, Hess, Irving, McDonalds, Mobil, Monroe Muffler, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, KFC, Lowe’s, Kohl’s, Staples, Sunoco, Rite Aid, Meineke, Provident Bank, and Wendy’s just to name a few. Scott’s uncanny ability to find the right site, ability to think outside the box and diligence throughout the approval and construction process has tripled Tropic Star’s size and forged the way to allow for the number of projects in process to quadruple.

James Mitchell (Jim) - Vice President

Jim graduated cum laude from Southern New Hampshire University in 2005. He began his career working for a maritime company, where he played a key role in driving the business to over $10 million in revenue through both his sales and management roles. In 2010, he transitioned to the commercial real estate and development business, where his true passion lies. Over the past 14+ years, Jim has worked extensively with numerous tenants on site selection, leasing, permitting, construction and overseeing projects from inception to completion. With a deep understanding of the commercial real estate industry, he is skilled in managing complex projects and collaborating with national and regional tenants to help them grow their businesses. When he’s not working on existing and new projects, you can find him enjoying time on the water with his wife and four children.

Educated at Northeastern University and practicing real estate for decades Jim has a long background in development and commercial construction all over New England; chances are you have seen one of his projects. He ran his own company for many years and decided to team up with Tropic Star Development as a Site Selector in 2009 to add value to a different side of the business. Jim's experience in selecting and understanding construction challenges of sites is a vital part in Tropic Star Development expertise.

Siobhan Norris - Accounting

Siobhan has been working with Scott Mitchell, Founder since 2012. She handles the finances for the company's various projects. She also assists in handling the company's HR functions and office organization as well as property management for various locations. Her work ethic and attention to detail are a large part in the continued success of Tropic Star Development. Siobhan has an Associate's degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor's in Management.
